Waiting...

We continue to play the waiting game. The question for right now is how long will we be waiting on this step. Our HS has been sent to USCIS. I had heard 4 weeks was the norm, but when I went online to verify our service center's time frame they had posted they were currently working on applications from September 2008. WHAT? I checked with our HS agency to see if their clients had found this to be accurate and was advised that the USCIS have been running around 90 days from when the last piece of information was received. Our application and fingerprints have been there, but our HS is just now on its way. Not very encouraging. Our concern is that the girls will be transferred in August. We do not have 90 days to wait on this one step... 4 weeks was pushing it! The unresolved political debate regarding the adoption process in the girl's country is an ongoing concern as well. Who is to say when our temporary reprieve is over! We will be praying for God to intervene and things to progress more rapidly. Once we have given the US Mail time to deliver our HS, we will also be in contact with our State Reps to see if they can pull a string or two for us! We could really use your prayers for things to go quickly... Thanks again for being along for the ride!

  1. I will be praying for USCIS to process your paperwork quickly and send that 171h form ASAP! It is very difficult to wait on someone else who does not understand the urgency of your situation and the longing you have to bring your children home. But God does, and He will take care of everything.:)

  3. Have you looked into how to do the emergency approval due to "special circumstances"? I don't remember exactly what it's called. I was looking into it because we're going to try it once our home study is done since our little guy is already in an institution. Maybe you could do it based on the fact that the girls are due to be transfered in August?
I can look it up again if you can't find the info. That might be the best thing to ask the state reps to help with.
