Still just hanging out at the "Sun"...

We are visiting the girls morning and evening. We haven't really had any down time yet. Yesterday after the morning visit we went shopping with two of the caretakers to purchase our gifts to the groups. It is common to make a donation of some sort so they had asked for a stroller for one group and some puzzles for the other. Regardless of how tight your budget might be at home, you are blessed! We knew we could do more than a few puzzles and a stroller. Through our interpreter (via phone) they asked our limit. We told our interpreter we were not sure, but we knew we were buying more than the asked and at least x amount per group. She told them x amount as the limit. They were acting pleased though. In fact the nurse that took the call went back upstairs and down came three. Two accompanied us shopping and they seemed very excited the entire time. They opted against the stroller and both groups 'gifts' were used to purchase a lot of puzzles, workbooks, fingerpuppets, learning games and other supplies for the group. One group spent the full amount and the other had not... we kept trying to encourage her to select more, but finally she asked to call the interpreter again. Through the interpreter she told us "no, we have everything we wanted". It was very reassuring to us that this particular orphanage does care for the children. We witnessed first hand the joy these workers found in being able to get more supplies for the children. They obviously were not motivated by greed because we were prepared to spend more right then and there. We have witnessed the care and concern through various encounters as well. Now... there are a few workers that are a little less friendly towards us, but that is most likely still out of concern for the children. We had brought additional supplies with us to donate so when we visited last night we took each group a couple of packs of socks, pack of underwear and hand sanitizer. This morning we carried the clothes that we had purchased which we divided between the groups. I'm glad we were able to give the supplies to the groups, but it is so little in comparison.

We have found that Anastasia will need to have her legs/hips checked. Her right leg turns inward and her hips just don't seem 'right'. We are not going to worry her by looking to closely when she is still getting used to us. Besides... we can't do anything about it here! Just something new we discovered. Who knows, this may not be a big deal. We will follow up to see. Doesn't matter much... she is ours (just waiting on the legalities!). Sophia we knew we would need to follow up with cardiac care. We will see when we get home what issues are. We are not going to rely too much on the information from her file. Both girls will be checked throughly when we get home. Eye doctor, International Adoption Clinic (pediatrician, family therapist, occupational therapist, lab work), dentist, hearing, etc. They may not enjoy being home with all of these appointments, but we have to see what we are up against and get them healthy! Just a few more photos from our play dates yesterday. You may recongize a couple of the kids from RR!
